As far as I can see you used radial blur zoom, then layered the original over the blurred layer. It's nice, but not very out of the ordinairy.

Yes, also a lightning effect in the center (where the hands are)...
This was my first sign with photoshop, I used to do them with Paint Shop Pro :<

Photoshop > Paint Shop Pro.

You can definitely improve it, use a border stroke or create a border square around your sig, use a gradient in the border itself to make dashed lines or something, blend it and it will look even better.

Nice idea. But as TerrrrrrrrorTera said there is space for improvements.

But lets analyse it:
Format
typical signature size, looks good

Color
the contrast in the face of Ed is quite to high, also his coat looks quite over saturated. the background is ok, as the the seperate colors fits to the render in the foreground

Background / Foreground
sure, it looks ok as you used the render with a radial blurness but even with this effect it looks in someway that Ed doesn't really fit into this picture - i think it's because of the extreme saturation - but what i like is that you tried create a relation between hg and bg

Typographie
thats the most hard part of a signature. you made it on the easy way by putting your name in a contrast color in a corner - it works often BUT in your example it doesn't fit right.
try to leave some space between the borders/corner of the sig, so that it will looks like that your name will "float" - in your sig it looks forced in that corner

Hints and Ideas
Play! Play with the elements. Symetrie is nice but often not effective as it's very common. And we (humans) love things that are common but also bear parts that are new to us.
So maybe move Ed to a side (maybe more to right) and create a flow inside the art.
